What the scan is
A REMS ultrasound bone health check, with no X-rays. It measures your bone density and bone quality, helping to assess your risk of osteoporosis and future fractures. You don't need a referral and there's no waiting list.

• A short questionnaire before your scan

• Your bone scan, about 20 minutes, in a booked 30-minute slot

• Your results on the day

• A follow-up call with a clinician to answer your questions and talk through next steps
